SPooky Spots

If your life needs a dash of spookiness here are a some places in MALAYSIA to visit that could do the trick. ( Don't say that I didn't warn you.)

Georgetown - The Deadly Junction
- it is a T-Junction, located beside the Union High School, It Was said that if you ever drive across it late at night, your car will go out of control, & crash because there were many accidents happened there. some said that there is a tiny unknown tree which looks like a lady carrying a child beside the road, they saw her figure & a child screaming, some old folks said she was once a "bomoh"(witch) & she kidnapped her sister's son, somehow they never appear after being seen beside this "DEADLY JUNCTION".

Ipoh - St. Michael's Institution
- A group of Catholics missionaries arrived in 1912 and began to build a school next to the famous Kinta River. It did not take long for the missionary brothers who run the school to have enough funs to erect a huge school building with unique French structural design. When WW2 broke out, the school was used by Japanese secret police and as their headquarters. Lots of torturing been carry out. In this unique building, there were many tunnels which had been seal off and these tunnels are used by the Japanese to torture prisoners and storage of food. Most sightings occurs in the Chapel on the fourth floor of the building. A Brother dressed in black robe, holding praying beads in sitting position facing towards the door which accessing to the brothers quarter in the early am and without a head. Those who had witness it are asked to kept it a secret and not to scare others fearing no parents would register their children in the school. A real skull produce in the school biology lab was found in the school back field.

Kuala Kangsar - Malay College Kuala Kangsar
- Said to be a former site of a Japanese occupation camp during WW2. Students sometimes awakened by something that stares down directly at them. A marching platoon can be heard in the field. The sounds of chains. A tree on campus which is right beside a lamppost where the light shines down on it. The shadow produced is that of a man hanging from the tree.- this may be urban legend.A few though were conveniently historically 'situated' as they were old colonial admin buildings that were used by the Japanese during the Occupation in the 1940s where 'executions' would take place. Some of these buildings were the Victoria Institution (school), the Bukit Bintang Girls School (used to be methodist grounds, now demolished)

Kuala Kubu Bharu - Mara Junior Science College Kuala Kubu Bharu
- In various parts of the building a white flying apparition has been seen.

Kuala Lumpur - Bukit(Hill) Tunku
- A spooky place to be. Bukit (Hill) Tunku is actually one of the more elite residential areas in Kuala Lumpur. This place has many big and tall trees, and has this eerie feeling about it even at broad daylight and of course at night. It is said that a few years ago two youth embarked on a high speed motorcycle chase around the curvy roads of the area. One of the youth crashed at a dark stretch of the road, which is actually a very sharp corner. There have been claims about sightings of a young man riding a motorcycle at high speed, who mysteriously vanished in the dark.

Kuala Lumpur - Cheras - Poliklinik Cheras
- Used to be a government hospital but it is being abandoned with no reason, been to the place before seems haunted and bizarre, rumors heard that there are still some dead patient that is loitering around the area.

Kuala Lumpur - Genting Highlands Resort
- A famous hill-top resort and casino. Many people incurred gambling debts and committed suicide here. Some visitors leaving the hotel lobby reported seeing a man in red jump from the rooftop, just to disappear before he hits the ground. Certain rooms are not available for rent no matter how full the hotel was - those who have seen the inside reported that it was filled with old Chinese ghost wards. They would subsequently fall sick for days afterwards.

Kuala Lumpur - Highland Towers
- A tragic event that will forever live in the memory of Malaysians. One of the 3 blocks of apartment at this place fell apart due to landslide and heavy downpour prior to that fateful day. And Highland Towers have become famous for claims of being a very haunted place. Voices of the dead can be heard at night and ghostly figures are said to have appeared at the scene. There are also a story about a taxi driver who picked up a woman passenger at the middle of the night and being asked to drop her at the place. She left a bag and the poor taxi driver found it to be full of blood!

Kuala Lumpur - Pudu Prison
- Old prison that was abandoned after the area around it became commercialized. Reports of a strange thin Indian man walking the prison hallways and disappearing around the corner. Screams can be heard from the room where hangings take place. Certain areas such as specific cells and holding chambers were far colder than others. - Update: They are turning this back into a prison (for low security prisoners) as no one will take it up for commercial property as it is too well known for the hauntings. There were plans to turn it into a hotel where you can stay a night at the cell of the most notorious criminals. Actually, the listing is wrong about hangings. The hangings do not take place at Pudu prison. Unless its self inflicted/murder. Official hangings are done outside Pudu. There were of course many in-prison acts of violence that led to deaths of inmates. Many drug addicts were known to be victims of violent criminals and so they were moved out into another prison elsewhere.

Kuala Lumpur - Victoria Institution
- A very famous landmark in Kuala Lumpur, V.I. a boys school was a Japanese base during the occupation of Malaysia. Many British soldiers and locals were brutally tortured to death in the basement and some of the older buildings on the campus. It is said that not only are apparitions common in the day as well as the night, there have been many cases of spirits possessing students. The possessed boys would behave strangely, even violently, harming other students and teachers only to snap out of it a few hours later and remember nothing, even when they were forcibly restrained, their bruises would disappear when they returned to normal.

Pahang - Tras - Police Station in Tras
- During the 1950’s a police corporal and his wife were found in a state of shock and terror after opening their door to an unknown figure. Many police personnel were terrorized by this “entity” that other policemen would rather resign than being transferred to this remote station.

Perak - Ipoh - Tambun
- Sighting of an old lady on the roadside while driving.

Perak - Ipoh - Tambun Inn
- Lights reported to turn on and off and sounds of whispering.

Perak - Kellies Castle
- sometimes door are opened themselves. lots of scary screaming voices........

Puchong - Puchong House
- Evil drawings on the walls. Some say the ghost of a woman who resided here before haunts it. Other than that, just stepping into the house is enough to keep you awake for months.

Selangor - Ampang - S.K (1) Kuala Ampang
- Could hear taps in the toilet running by itself and sightings of a lady in white walking behind the school compound.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

What is it about Halloween that makes us seek things that go bump in the night???

People dressed up in the weirdest outfits imaginable, pumpkin heads grinning eerily in the night and children going house TRICK- OR - TREATING for candy. Sounds familiar???
Yes, its Halloween once again but, of course, this celebration mostly takes place in Western countries. MALAYSIANS have not quite bought into the idea yet.
So what's HAlloween all about, anyway??
And why is it always associated with horror and spooks???
Halloween's origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain ( pronounced : son-in ) or the Celtric New Year, where Celts believed that on the night before, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead become blurred, allowing spirits, both harmless and harmful, to pass through. their belief is much like our very own HUNGRY GHOST month that is observed by the Chinese.
In western countries , they have vampires, witch & etc.. MAlaysian does have their own LOCAL LORE..
HERE are few popular Malaysian ghosts that you might meet... hehe!!

  1. Pontianak – also known as the vampire where it is belief that they are usually ladies dressed in white seeking for revenge. The pontianak is said to be the spirit of a woman died of childbirth. Most of the time, they can look very beautiful but if you look closely, she would have razor sharp teeth. They usually comes out after the sun sets searching for men orpregnant women (apparently, it is said that she could not bear the thought of other women being able to enjoy motherhood) to suck blood. Sometimes, they even eat the flesh of babies ripped out from their mother’s womb.
  2. Toyol – these are actually ghostly kids that people adopt for the objective of stealing other people’s money. It is believed that this spirit is kept and preserved in a jar in a form of a foetus. Because the toyol is kept by people to do bidding, you have to feed it with blood everyday.
  3. Polong – unsen ghost that can be used by black magic practitioners (bomoh) to harm someone
  4. Pelesit – a ghost in the form of grasshopper used by bomohs to possess someone
  5. Hantu Air – water ghost found usually in rivers, lakes and swimming pools. They are usually the victim of drowning
  6. Kum Kum – an old witch who attacks young virgins to restore her youth and beauty
  7. Hantu Raya – ghosts that acts as a double for the bomoh
  8. Hantu Tetek – translates as Ghost Breast. This ghost is a female with huge breasts which is said to use it to suffocate her victims
  9. Bunian – good ghost or jinns (genie) that is usually found in the jungle. Loves to help humans in trouble or in need.
  10. Hantu Bungkus (Pocong) – ghost jumping around wrapped in white shroud
  11. Hantu Bukit – ghosts that haunt the hilly areas.
  12. Hantu Jepun – translates as Japanese ghost. Believed to appear wearing WW2 army attire carrying samurai swords. Usually found marching or if you are lucky, you can only hear the footsteps of marching. They are mostly headless
  13. Hantu Pari Pari – fairy ghosts
  14. Hantu Kubur – just like its direct translation of ghost cemetary. These ghosts are usually found haunting cemetaries
  15. Orang Minyak – also known as “oily man”. They are usually seen all covered in black oil and is said to love rape virgins
  16. Hantu Penanggalan (Hantu Tengelong) – Usually women studying black magic that has the ability to split its body from its head and fly around with its guts hanging around. It is said that its love to suck the blood of women during childbirth

TIPS!!!!

How to flirt

Wear red. Women who dress in red are seen by men as sexier than those who wear white, green, blue, or gray, according to a University of Rochester study. Not convinced? Ladies in red are 56 percent more likely to get asked out on a date than someone wearing blue.

Flash your…wrists. The most demure of body parts isn’t so innocent after all. “Their glands emit pheromones, so we become aroused on an unconscious level by seeing the wrists,” says Martin Lloyd-Elliot, a psychotherapist and author of The Secrets of Sexual Body Language (Ulysses Press).

Dim the lights. Candlelight is flattering in more ways than we realize. A University of Chicago study found that men perceived women with dilated pupils to be more attractive.

Stand tall. “We pay attention to someone who’s higher up,” says psychologist Beverly B. Palmer. Less obvious: Consider where you’re pointing your toes. You can tell if a person really likes you if their toes point toward you.

Don’t Be a Fashion Victim

Take it one trend at a time. Studs and chains? That’s it for the hardware. A bright neon dress? Keep the shoes muted.

Go ahead and mix things up—high end, low end, inherited or vintage—to foil a copycat uniform a head-to-toe runway look.

Don’t trot out all your jewels at once. Pick a big, showy necklace or a dramatic oversize cuff. But don’t wear both.

Test-drive everything. If you can’t walk in the five-inch-high gladiator platforms, don’t buy the five-inch-high gladiator platforms.

Become A Famous Blogger

Being as a famous blogger is just every blogger dream but can you really archive that? Probably yes, probably no, half maybe, could be or going to be, which one is your answer? There are many famous blogger in Malaysia, for example kennysia, liewcf, and so many more but I prefer kennysia because his blog is hilarious, funky, sexy and maybe a little serious sometimes. I also want to be a famous blogger in Malaysia and so does other blogger and there are many ways to do it. You can try promote it whenever there is an event by opening a booth and put up a big banner of your blog name and maybe dress like Spartan (if you are a man) or as a sexy and elegance girl (try not to wear to sexy because people will probably stare at you instead of your blog name).
Whenever there is a charity you can help them by sponsoring them, this way you could promote your blog easily. How to be consider as a famous Malaysian blogger, well I could say if you are being stare when you walk somewhere and someone came to huge you out from no where then you probably can be consider to be famous. If you want to be famous, try to stand out of the crowd.

A broken heart

I have given all my love to you, but what do I get in return?
A broken heart.
I have given you my heart, and you stomp on it like a doormat.
I gave you all the trust, but you misused it.
I want to pull my aching heart and tear it piece by piece,
I want to cry but I no longer have any more tears to fall down my sad lonely face.
I want to sleep but my dreams haunt me with you in them.
I can’t seem to find a way out.
What do I do?
I don’t want anyone to see this not even you.
How do I get out of this?
How do I stop this misery?
How do solve this mystery?
I can’t seem to find anyone to make feel the way you do,
The way you look at me, the way you say my name,
the sound of your voice when you tell me that you care.
I love you so much
I think I’m going to die from this pain that haunts day and night.
If the only love I know is you.
I want to brake free but I think I’ll be doing something wrong.
I just have to close my eyes and let things fly and let the days pass me by
or shall i just message YOU now & ask why n what happened???

Me & Him

Im wondering
is your fault or
my fault...
You promised me ,
that you never or will break my heart AGAIN
and now broke your promises
my heart had been stab by you AGAIN
my heart is crying
i want to cry loudly but i cant
the pain of sadness is killing me..
Some hearts are broken and mended,
Others are shattered or torn,
Although it was never intended,
For love is eternally sworn,
I've cried and prayed and pleaded,
for that love to hold its ground.
hope was all I needed,
and pain was all I found

so here it goes,
My sorrows song,
A song that's short,
And not to long,
A silent pain,
you'll never feel,
A broken heart,
that'll never heal
How do you kill,
A dying love,
One that you thought,
was sent from above
One that brought
so many lies and tears
One that you swore
would last through the years
But now I lie here,
Broken in pain,
Clinging to life,
And whispering your name,
I cried in my sobber pain

New grade of A+ For SPM!! really stupid!!

THAT day, I had the shock of my life when GIN told me that SPM had a new grade.
So i decided to surf on the net after few days.... and this is what i found...
from THE STAR NEWSPAPER WEBSITE

New grade of A+ for SPM
A new grading system for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) will be implemented from this year.

Education director-general Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd Dom said the change would provide a detailed breakdown of excellent candidates who obtained grade As in the examination.

“The change means there will now be a new grade of A+. Previously, the highest grade possible in the SPM was 1A,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Under the present system, students are graded as 1A, 2A, 3B, 4B, 5C, 6C, 7D, 8E and 9G while the new grades would be from A+ to G (see chart).

Alimuddin said the change was based on feedback from various quarters that the existing system did not provide a more detailed breakdown of excellent students.

“The change in the grading system will enable more qualified candidates to be chosen for training programmes and new scholarships, such as the one announced by the Prime Minister recently,” he said.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said in June that a new category of Public Services Department scholarships would be introduced next year based purely on merit, regardless of race.

Alimuddin said the Cabinet approved the change in the grading system last month.“This will not affect the examination at all as it only involves a change in the grades given,” he said.

He said school principals have been directed to explain the new grading system to students sitting for the SPM this year.

End!!

As it stands, the marking scheme for SPM subjects seems to make it so easy for students to score straight A's. With this new grading scheme, it seems that the authorities are more interested in adding feathers to the caps of mediocre students and to give them a false sense of security by allowing them to think that they are good - but only at national level because when they compete at the international level, they are not in the running at all.

And why so?

Because the SPM system DOES NOT encourage independent critical thinking at all. Students are taught to memorize, regurgitate and to meet standard requirements as tailored according to the so-called marking scheme.

An 'A' is an 'A'. How can there be A+??? Does it mean the achievement of the student is beyond 100%?

Instead of coming up with A+, should they not TIGHTEN the system so that the examination does not become a programmed machine that churns out "A's" without keeping a tab on standards?

Doesn't the range of grading show the "detailed breakdown of excellent candidates" by virtue of the fact that each paper should have a grading scheme and marking scheme?

With the high number of students achieving straight A's, this new move seems meaningless.

It would be easier to RAISE standards rather than to add a new grade which would cost a lot in terms of printing and other logistic requirements.

I wonder who the DG was referring to when he said that "the change was based on feedback from various quarters". Are these people from the education sector and actively involved in moderating SPM papers?

I cannot understand the rationale that the new grading scheme can enable more qualified candidates for scholarships when such a system means FEWER will be getting A+ whilst MANY will still be getting 1A and 2A.

Apart from that , it is about 1.5 months before the SPM exam begins. Don't you think this news will rattle the current cohort of SPM candidates and give them undue stress because of uncertainties instead of reinforcing a sense of confidence in the system that seems to have no system?

Other international examination systems have had A* grades for many years - since 1989 and my former colleagues have also lamented on how an A* is meaningless these days because standards have deteriorated and the calibre of students is certainly in a pathetic state of want not just in Malaysia, but also in many parts of the world.

So are we improving or worsening the state of affairs in the education system?

Think!!! Is this new grading system going to make a REAL difference in our system? If one is mediocre, slapping an A+ is meaningless and just a ploy to make people happy with a false sense of security with a "syok sendiri sahaja" (satisfy oneself) reaction.

THE HISTORY OF MOON CAKE FESTIVAL

Mooncake festival, also known as Mid-Autumn Festival or Lantern Festival, is a time when children run around with colorful lanterns and families gather for some delicious mooncakes filled with sweet or savory fillings. It is the only time of the year when children are allowed to stay up late and play with colorful lanterns. Some carry colored lanterns in the shape of animals and their favorite cartoon character, while others carry traditional round paper lanterns that are usually used as decoration. Many children are also seen carrying battery operated plastic lanterns which many adults feel are safer.

Moon-walking Goddess
A popular Chinese myth related to the Mooncake Festival involves the immortal Chang Er who lives on the moon. She was very beautiful and people celebrate her beauty during the mooncake festival, when the moon is at its brightest and roundest - on the 15th of eight lunar month.
Once upon a time in China, ten suns appeared in the sky and this was causing much grief to the people. Crops were withering, rivers were drying up and people were dying from the heat. This catastrophe forced the emperor to summon Hou Yi, a mythological archer to shoot down the suns in return for an immortal elixir. He wanted to shoot down all the suns but his wife, Chang Er begged him to leave one up in the sky for warmth and light. As Hou Yi was about to go against his wife's wishes, his wife grabbed the immortal elixir and drank it as a form of protest immediately after, Chang Er began floating higher and higher until she reached the moon and stayed there.
Moonlit Uprising
In the 14th century, the Han Chinese overthrew the Mongols in a carefully planned uprising. The success of this uprising lies in these little mooncakes. Small pastries with a secret message outlining the plan was hidden inside the pastries and distributed. Lantern wielding rebels distributed the pastries at night in a well disguised wedding celebration. As outlined in the secret message, the Han Chinese executed a surprise attack on the Mongols.
The full moon on the Mid Autumn Festival shone brightly on the pathways to guide the rebels through the maze of the palace. Since then, mooncakes and lanterns are used each year to honor the new dynasty and the auspiscious moon.
Mooncakes
Traditionally, mooncakes are small pastries filled with a sweet paste filling - redbean or lotus seed. Now, new recipes are being invented to cater for the fickle consumer's tastebuds. There is pandan (screwpine leaf) filling, coconut filling, meat fillings, nut and fruits filling, yam and even durian filling. For those who prefer cold treats, there are also ice-cream mooncakes!
Traditionally, the most popular form of mooncakes consumed is the ones stuffed with egg yolks. The yolks in the mooncake represent the full moon during the celebration. Although some people would heartily consume mooncakes filled with four eggyolks, many health conscious consumers rather opt for the less-sweet types of mooncakes.
